Newsgroup help!
Question:
Does anyone know how to create a new newsgroup? I want to make one for Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Yukon XLs.

First, get a nice server. Say a Dell Poweredge Dual PIII – 800w/ a Gig or two of RAM, a single 18G Drive for the root and a dozen or so 50G Barracuda’s in RAID 45 set (gives a nice, fast 550G to play with!!) and fault-over NIC’s. Run it through a PIX box, slam tat into the routers and through the ISP. Register your domain name with the artist formerly known as Internic.net and get setup for UseNet feeds (should kill the drivespace in a few days, might want to set the news server do delete anything more than 48 hours old.) Than you can have any groups you want and sa many as you want! Just make people use your server ver everyone else’s! Being the creator of THIS group, I can tell you where to get help. Go to "alt.config". That’s where you have to petition to have an "alt" newsgroup created. It worked for me! Getting a group in the other categories is very difficult. I tried to create this group in the "rec" heading, and had no luck.
