Vibration at idle while in gear (Sonoma)

Question:

My ‘96 Sonoma (4×4 reg. cab long bed, enhanced V-6) started making a vibrating noise when I’m stopped, in gear and the engine is idling. First time I heard it I thought someone was behind me with a bad muffler, then realized it was coming from under my hood.  If I put it into neutral, then there’s no noise.  Don’t really know where to start looking for this annoyance.  Ideas? Thanks. John S. Before you buy.

Response:

Check for idle speed.  You may have a weak spark, injector and at load it’s just not quite enough to work right. — Bob May I don’t read attachments to posts as they may give me a virus  If I expect an attachment from you I will open it.. You may have a brilliant thought but if you put it into an attachment I won’t read it and thus both you and I lose. I don’t like to say it but unfortunatly, there are those who insist upon being nasty to the rest of us.   Bob May
