Question:

Ok I’ll bite I have a 1996 Olds Silhouette Van the wipers work ok about 10% of the time (like at a repair shop) the remaining 90% they will not work or work incorrectly. IE: will not run at any switch position OTHER than high work incorrectly for the switch position they are in (no delay in delay mode etc.) Mist button doesn’t work wash button does not work. sound familiar? Ray What’s up with the recall?  Thanks

I have a 94 gmc sonoma, the wipers often times do not work when I turn the switch, I can get out and pull them through the motion, no effect, until I pull the passanger side wiper further over than it appears it was meant to go…then the system seems to engage and go…the electric motor is running the entire time I have the switch on, but the wipers are not movie up until this point. -JF

My 1994 GMC Jimmy’s wipers work.  That’s not the problem.  My problem is that when I use my left or right directional, my wipers go on.  Anyone have this problem???  If so, please reply…thanks -Jaime Ann Rehus

My only problem with the 95 Lesabre I have is that sometimes when I hit the windshield washer button, it squirts, but the wipers don’t come on so I have to switch them on by turning the knob. I have a 96 Astro. During the last rain here in Denver I noticed the low speed suddenly stopped working. I switched to high speed and then back to low speed. The wipers worked again for a while till a repeat of the problem occured.  Based on this thread I’m going to check to see if a TSB covers the Astro. I will bet that all these models have a common part.

My ‘96 Chevy K1500 has some strange intermittent wiper problems.  There is a connector on the wiper motor that, if wiggled, makes the wipers work.  The stalk switch is somehow damaged, the wipers are off on the "mist" setting, the mist setting does not work.  Lastly, the wipers don’t "park" in the lowest position, but about an inch higher.  Oh, well, here in SoCal wipers are seldom used anyway. — Cheers, Steve  SSOA F00-1363  CCSD #204 00 Camaro SS Lt.
