Chevy V6 info
Question:
Take a 350 Chevy and cut #7 and #8 cyl’s off and you get a 4.3. Very good engine. Early models have a little vibration. Later models have a balance shaft right above the camshaft.

Hi group! I’m thinking of doing an engine conversion with a Chevy 4.3 V6. I’m trying to get familiar with them, but not finding much info on the web. I’d like to know more about the evolution of this engine (year to year changes) and what vehicles originally came with this engine. Any typical problems or issues? Where should I look to find this info? Thanks! Chris
Response:
I assume that this is the Vortec V6? the 4.3 V6 has been available in the safari/astro vans and in other trucks like the S-10/sonoma and the jimmy/blazer SUV’s for at least the past 13 years. — Dawson Gilliland "If death is a debt we all must pay, he paid before he owed it." -Eulogy for Canada.
