looking for custom subwoofer boxes for 2000 gmc sierra ext cab. I like the Q-form type boxes at crutchfield but am looking for something a little less pricey.
Response:
outside of custom made, I don’t know of any for that application that "fit" perfectly like the Q-forms. Yes they are fairly spendy, but if your goal is to save space you must pay the bill. Custom enclosures can get expensive–unless you can build it yourself (which I can) but the tools alone would make it cost effective for most to just by the box. And it really depends also on which subs you intend to use. If you go with the Kicker Solo-Baric speakers for example, you can get by with a much smaller air volume,. but you pay for it in the price of the speaker.

I have a Bazzoka tupe, it fits. Not the best sub but it is fine for me, and it was not that much$$$. * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!

I found that a Bazooka tube fits nicely under the rear seat (if you have an ext. cab model), without having to mess with boxes of any sort. More bass that my ears can handle anyways.

I put one of the MTX ThunderForms in my ‘99. Been pretty happy with it. Didn’t think it was too pricey and a local dealer had them in stock. — Kinny Vinson ironhead03_AT_usa_DOT_net

I have a pair of mtx individual box speakers that fit nicely behind my seats. They give plenty of bass for me. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> looking for custom subwoofer boxes for 2000 gmc sierra ext cab. No no and no. Bazooka tubes suck ass, as far as quality audio is concerned. If you want something that is really worth it and will sound much better get a homemade box and throw it behind the seat, or get the q-forms. Bazooka tubes are very very cheaply made. The tube is made of cardboard, and the driver is a cheapy paper on. The Q-forms are a little pricey, but i gaurantee they will sound a hell of a lot better. I tried a tube in my 1990 K1500, and i was very unimpressed. I have since upgraded to a carpeted wooden box, with a 10" Pioneer drive, and a Kenwood 100wat amp, its not the greatest by some audio standards, but it beats the pants off of the bazooka.
