Question:
I have to get a leaf replaced on my 95 GMC Sierra 4X4 and was wondering if it would be worth it to have them toss another leaf in both packs to give it a little higher ride? I suspect they would have to tweak the torsion bars in the front to level it off if a leaf were added? How much of a PITA is it? I know it would probably be a little stiffer, but that’s OK, I think the rear end is a little soft anyway when I get my tools n stuff in there under the cap.

You’re right on the money. If it pleases you, do it your way. One leaf may give you an inch…crank the t-bars an inch and your ride will be very similar to what you have now…a little stiffer though. Any time you crank a t-bar, you should immediately (or within the next 3 or so months) get the alignment checked. May need a camber adjustment which requires removing the stops put in place at the factory and replacing them with adjustable ones. Not a PITA at all IMHO. HH
Response:
yep i agree… but i also suggest if you’re gonna crank the t-bars up you may wanna look at an aftermarket shock over an OEM one…. the t-bars on mine are to it’s limit and the ride was absolutley terrible and one shock even busted in half (literally) until i got a set of trailmaster ssv shocks (accomodates upto a 4" lift) and voila… instant gratification…. :)
