Help: 90 GMC Sierra K15 4×4 PU. No Owner's Manual. Need Transfer Case Shift Procedures. TIA

Question:

A friend just bought a 1990 GMC Sierra K-15 4×4 PU with an A/T, and manual transfer case shitt on the floor, and no locking hubs in the front.  It didn’t come with an owner’s manual, and she is looking for the proper procedures for shifting the transfer case as listed in the owners manual.  If anyone can post this information she would be grateful.  Thanks in advance. RG

Response:

From 2WD to 4WD HI, just make sure you are not spinning the rear wheels. From 4WD to 4WD LO, Engine running, transmission in neutral, less then 5 mph.

I would recommend getting an owner’s manual; look on Ebay, at your dealer, or OTOH, you can shift when the tranny is in neutral and be safe ;-) — A — most days ‘01 Rodeo Sport (Amigo) "JetGrrl" V6 Softtop KW PhatBox fast days ‘93 300ZX NA "Ishara" Alpine JL Audio T-tops and zoomin slow days ‘74 K5 Blazer "Tank Grrl" stock, rusty, and convertible big  days ‘90 V2500 Suburban "Sub Grrl" people, stuff, dog! mover some day  ’77 Blazer Chalet camper insert being worked on, really
