GMC/Chevy Light Problem?
Question:
I just bought me a 2001 Sierra Z71 4×4 GMC and love it.. Now that I own a GMC I have been looking at more and more Chevy/Gmc trucks on the road. I have Noticed over the last month the about 75% of the Trucks I see 2000 and up models that a DAYTIME head-light is burned out. It seems for every 1 truck I see with both lights on during the day I see 3 with one light burned out. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m just curious on WHY? Cheap factory lights that can’t handle being on all the time?? Or? Thx
Response:
they probley cost to much to bother with so when the other burns out no more drl’s.
Response:

Nah, you just keep seeing the same truck all the time.
Response:
At least the trucks with the older system where the DRL’s are the high beams on half power don’t seem to burn out. Mine are still okay after 10 years. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I just bought me a 2001 Sierra Z71 4×4 GMC and love it.. The bulbs are pretty much the same bulb that’s in you tail lamps. How long would your brake lights last if they were on all the time? GM has an extended life bulb only about $3.50. — Tim "BigGnome" Benware ‘01 Chevrolet S-10 4×4 ASE Master Certified Technician

I have two (1999 and 2001) GMC/Chevy pickups and YES they have burned out every 6 – 8 months or less. Rick

I just checked mine (2000 Z71 1500) and they are still both working. I’ve had the truck for just under 18 months. Bob Walker

I still have 2 good drls but i have seen a half dozen with one burnt out. You would think that for all that money they would put some decent bulbs in.
