fog lights

Question:

did he wright a message or is my comp nuts?

Response:

22 lines went somewhere. I didn’t get them. Just like my fog lamps. They are there but I don’t get them. did he wright a message or is my comp nuts?

Response:

I have a 99 explorer E.B., my fog lights will come on with only the parking lights.

Response:

That  happens on my 2dr 99 as well, is this working as designed ? jeff – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I have a 99 explorer E.B., my fog lights will come on with only the parking > lights.

Response:

Yes, this is better than only working with the head lights. My 97 E.B. only worked with the head lights on low beam.

Response:

Fog lights should also function with low beans based on the switch on the dash. At least mine do. Gerry

Response:

It can be done, however it is illegal and if the truck is registered in a state that requires yearly inspections it will fail. Scott

Response:

It worse than illegal, it is rude and stupid. Trucks and SUVs already get enough bad press, why go around trying to blind people with FOG lights that you don’t need when you are using your high beams. Leave the stupid things off until you actually need them. Please don’t say they help you see with your high beams- this is cop out. Response:

It MAY be illegal where he lives. But if the fog lights are on at the same time as the high-beams, is he really blinding other drivers?  If he is, it is because he has his high beams on when he is overtaking other cars or approaching them in the other dirrection. You are assuming he doesn’t dim his brights in this situation. If this is the case, he doesn’t need the fog lights to help blind the oncoming traffic, the brights will be doing a fine job of it anyway. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >It worse than illegal, it is rude and stupid. Response:

Ed, They actually do help me see, I have headlight covers on my truck, again maybe illegal, tough. With my brights on and the fog lights on I have a good amount of light to see, not to "go around trying to blind people with FOG lights that you don’t need when you are using your high beams". But hey, thanks for letting me know how stupid and rude I am not, really appreciate it. I don’t remember asking for anyone’s opinion on my idea, and thank you all that actually use this list for what it should be used for, to share information. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> It worse than illegal, it is rude and stupid. Splice the wire and wire it direct to the switch.

i want to install fog lights or driving lights on my 84 5K S. actually, prob. driving lights, but it doesnt matter. i know "how" to do it, but i dont know HOW to do it, know what i mean. basically, all i need to know is what to draw from for curent for the lights, a new fuse and relay? also, i have some blank panels on the A column ( i think it’s the A column, it’s in the center) can i remove them to put the switch for the driving lights there? i want to also put in a seperate switch for high-beams, the one on the blinker wand doesnt work, the come on, but they dont stay on. i’m thinking of just switching the current from the headlight switch directly to the line for the high-beams. so that i can turn the high beams on with that switch only and not the one on the blinker wand. is this a good idea? any suggestions? i know i dont sound like i know what i am doing, but i do have a plan (and a schematic!)

Response:

84? Get some Bosch headlamps…"Euro" style quads, to replace what you have, add some relays, and some 80/100w lows. You’ll never ask for more light again. Get the power from the jumper post. only idiots or japanese car drivers.  I broke down and looked at an Acura CL a few weeks ago.  no separate switch for the fogs.  they’re on whenever the headlights are on.  plus- the headlights are xenon, so do you really need fogs???

Response:

Of course these are all splendid items, but perhaps just a little too glaringly obvious for my trips to the local supermarket car park. Maybe we could just use a small (briefcase sized) thermo-nuclear device instead.  It would have the dual advantage of resolving the problems of incorrectly aimed headlights and freeing up considerable areas of highway for us ‘more sensible’ drivers to enjoy. Yes there is, but they’re no reason too. Turn them on in heavy fog and snow. Off at all other times.

Response:

Maybe you should also consider mounting a Browning 0.5 calibre machine gun, aimed slightly further forward in case they don’t heed your ’suggestion’. Charles

Charles, I LIKE that idea!  What do you find to be the best mounting location? They’re FOG LIGHTS Joe, not for use to blind other drivers. Read the previos post. Only idiots use them all the time.

My factory fog/driving lights only work with the low beams. They will stay on if you flash the high beams, but will turn off when the highs are on. The fuse is in an auxiliary holder attached to the side of the main box. I bought the factory kit and installed them myself – about a 3 hour job, including the removal and reinstallation of the bumper. My car is a 1990 Civic 4wd Wagon.

There are probably 10 reasonable places to mount fog lights on an ‘87 Accord LX.  Could you be a bit more specific?  What are you looking for here? — http://www.mindspring.com/~wrwillia/

Actually, they don’t. I’ve looked at them with the full headights and high beams on, but they don’t do anything either way. And when the parking lights are on, it’s just the parking lights. Oriel

There are probably 10 reasonable places to mount fog lights on an ‘87 Accord LX.  Could you be a bit more specific?  What are you looking for here? — http://www.mindspring.com/~wrwillia/

Response:

The Factory Fog Lights go in the ‘pop outs’ below the turn signals. Not sure if wiring is there though. Jason

Response:

There is no wiring.  That comes with the fog light kit.

Response:

i beleive there are knockouts on the front bumper where the OEM fog lights are supposed to be installed. should be on the corners, right under the turn sigs. — rich – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > hi: > is there any place to mount fog lights on a 87 accord lx? > thanks in advance > scott
