95 gmc shifter removal

Question:

Shifter knob? My ‘90 shift lever is one piece, no knob to remove… or are you trying to remove the entire lever? > Help i am a newbie.  Ive tried to remove my shifter knob from a 5 speed > transmission by un screwing it but nothing happened,am i not putting enough > pressure on it or is it pressed on?  What is the best way to remove it  so > that i may install it later > Thanks in Advance > Lorri

just the knob   several others told me that it cannot be removed.  I was wanting to put an aftermarket one on it thanks for the reply

Well Lorri,     You could start by letting us know what kind of GMC, and if the shifter is on the floor, or the steering column. GMdude

sorry  the shifter is on the floor and is a 95 sierra 1500
