Wiring for '88 Safari??
Question:
Hi Everyone, I’ve just acquired a nice ‘88 Safari (V6 4.3L) in pretty good shape with the exception of slight interior damage from a fire. I need to re-wire the interior dome lights, none work. I’ll also need to re-wire for my speakers. Any good sites I could use for some guidance starting with the fuse block layout, type of wiring to use, and how/what to check for. I’ve got an ‘87 Safari with 5L V8 and need to drop the transmition, if you or anyone else comes across this information in your search for wire diagrams please send it my way. I have checked the info in my Chiltons book but the electrical section is not very good (I’ve needed it at times myself). I will check the owners manual in my car to see if it has information that could be useful to you and get back to you. You know, there is a PONTIAC Safari (formerly the Parisienne wagon, one of which I own) *and* a GMC Safari for ‘87-89. Is yours a Pontiac or a GMC? If it’s a Pontiac, I’d love to swap some info!! A note to all posters: please be more specific when you say "Safari"!! -Michael Semon
