Vibration @ 74 MPH, 94 Astro ??
Question:
I have a 94 Astro van (2wd) ext. It has newer tires and shocks. It has the factory aluminum wheels. The Van has recently developed a bad vibration at 73 to 76 MPH. It rides smoothly at other speeds. I have had the tires balanced several times by different people at different places, and it still has the same symptoms. My wife drives the van mostly and we can not remember for sure when this started. So what is the problems?? Thanks Barry

may have warped rotors. Also, check your steering compnents for wear and if you have wheel bearings that need repacking, check them, too.

Perhaps the driveshaft needs to be balanced… Will

Were the tires SPIN balanced at that speed? If not, then have it done. Check tires & wheels for runout. Your problem is most likely one of the above. > I have a 94 Astro van (2wd) ext. We had at one time an 86 GMC Safari that developed a similar problem at certain speed ranges (this problem cropped up back in 88 so my memory is a little fuzzy..) Anyways, the dealer had apparently found a vacumn problem that was causing it. I’ll try and find the original repair paperwork (we no longer own the vehicle) and post up the exact information. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I have a 94 Astro van (2wd) ext.
