Cats on car….
Question:
I now know I am not alone, we have two cats and they are making mess of my cars. I will try the pepper / catnip.

Catnip on something else nearby? Give them something >> they’ll like better than your car?
Response:
One trick which has worked repeatedly for me is to prop your windshield wipers up so they stick straight out from your windshield (provided that they do that, and most GM products do). For some reason this has always kept cats off my truck. Good luck – Jonathan > How can I keep cats off of my car? A 12 gauge would work – might hurt the clear coat but it will get the cats off the car! Ha! I’m killing myself laughing…

Hey, that reminds me of my vacation visit to Disney World. All the little booths had these rotating things on top that I figured must be for keeping off the birds. Sounds good for bird, but wonder if the cat would enjoy chasing it?? If the latter, mount it to your neighbor’s car ; ) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > There’s a marine gizmo that keeps seagulls off the roofs of > boats. Or, if you’re short on time, patience, or don’t have steady hands, good eyesight, or a decent pair of tweezers, just fill the zip-lock bag with whole moths… I hope someone is laughing as hard as I am. If the car is slick, cats will use their claws to stick. In other words, try another trick. Word!

Willis If the cats aren’t doing any damage, what’s the harm? If they are, punch a few holes in a zip-lock bag, fill it with mothballs, and slip it under one of your wipers.
Response:
Oh yeah, and put a Beware of Dog sign under the other wiper.

Try Zaino. Do the clay bar treatment first. Your finish will be so slick, if there is any slope at all on the hood or rear deck the cats will slide off. Won’t help for the roof if they get that far. I do remember seeing a "Training Mat" at a pet store a while back.. Simple thing, plugged into 110, transformed the voltage down to something harmless, and provided a mild shock when something stepped on the mat. Was designed for training pets to stay off furniture, or away from certain areas of a house, etc… I suspect that it would work just as effectively on your car, and after one zap it’s doubtfull the cat in question would return.. Might take a few nights, but the problem should solve itself, as cats tend to learn pretty quickly..
Probably an expensive option, though.. As for the repellant sprays, well, not only will they be utterly ineffective due to the airflow outside (Hell, most of them hardly work *inside*!), but there’s a possibility that they will harm your finish.. — Mark – Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Chevy Astro / GMC Safari Message Board! Sometime back, someone on the RV-talk mail list swore up and down that placing a broom propped up agains the car so that the handle stuck up above the hood would work. Never tried it myself. Some other people claimed to have tried it and said it worked. Paul in Portland OR

About the only thing that I can recommend is a car cover. You can also thread wires through it and hook up a hot fence system if they still peersist. If the car is in a garage, you can also keep the cats out. — Bob May Remember that computers do exactly what you tell them to do, not what you think that you told them! Bob May
