Anyone with some expreience with Astro/Safari.
Question:
Hello. I’m looking into buying a Chevrolet Astro, or a GMC Safari. Just wondering if anyone have heard, or have any bad experience with these types of cars. The reason for asking is that I currently own a Volkswagen Caravelle ‘96, and after buying this car I’m so dissapointed with everything from the local dealers to the quality of the car. Regards Tommy Eriksen

We’re currently on our second Astro, both bought used. The first was a ‘90 we bought with around 100k on it. Drove it to 191k and all I ever did was put a water pump in it. Traded for a ‘92 with all-wheel-drive(highly recommended if you live in a wintry area like Wisconsin, GO DAYNE!!). It had 78k when we bought it, now has 125k and still going strong. fred

My sister has a 1999 astro with 12,000 miles on it. It has stopped dead twice in the middle of the freeway and the dealer still doesn’t know what is wrong. It seems GM is very irregular. My 1999 Express van with 6,000 miles on it has spent a month in the shop fixing A/C and lots of rattles and now has leaking rear main seal and leaking oil cooler lines. My sister’s 1998 has had no problems in 90,000 miles. * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find related Web Pages, Images, Audios, Videos, News, and Shopping. Bought a ‘90 Astro new. Drove it for 210K. No major repairs and still going strong when I got tired of it (kids were grown up and gone and I felt stupid driving around alone in an 8 passenger van) and gave it to a charity group. Replaced it with a ‘99 Silverado 1500, 4×4. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Hello. > I’m looking into buying a Chevrolet Astro, or a GMC Safari. > Just wondering if anyone have heard, or have any bad experience with these > types of cars. > The reason for asking is that I currently own a Volkswagen Caravelle ‘96, > and after buying this car I’m so dissapointed with everything from > the local dealers to the quality of the car. > Regards > Tommy Eriksen
