1993 GMC SAFARI, REPLACE BULB IN INSTRUMENT PANEL

Question:

>DIGITAL CLUSTER – LIGHT THAT WORKS ON SHIFT PART ONLY (R,D,D1,1,2,) >THAT PART WENT OUT ONLY.  I AM INTERESTED IS SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO >REPLACE BULB, TO GET AT IT.

If it’s as much fun as my ‘86 S-10 to get to…  make sure you have lots of time on your hands.  And plenty of patience. On mine, you have to remove the panels on either side of the dash, remove the trim panel below the column, then remove the nuts holding the cluster holder to the dash, then the nuts from the cluster to the holder, then remove then cluster a bit and pull of the speedo cable, and the wiring harness. Whew!!   That is all to JUST replace some burnt out bulbs that back-light my dash.  I’ve still got 2 bulbs left alive.  One more blows and I’ll resort to fixing it.  :)
