Question:
i have a 1988 gmc jimmy (fullsize) every time i hit a bump it is all over the road it has a lift does anybody have a answer. it has new pitman arm ,new steering arm. http://community.webtv.net/chriskross/chrisshomepage
Response:
Sounds like bumpsteer. What happens when you hit a bump is the flex between the steering box and axle is enough to act as steering input. The best solution is a crossover steering setup if you have 4 or more inches of lift. There have been several magazine articles on the subject that I have seen over the last couple years. You may be able to search the internet on the subject as well. http://www.offroadunlimited.com/articles/crossover_steering/page1.htm http://coloradok5.com/crossoversteering.shtml Good luck Kenny
