Radio in 1999 GMC 4 door Jimmy
Question:
Why don’t you just replace your speakers. Nowadays, speakers have come very far, bringing out spectucular sound in any vehicle. Or you can add one subwoofer and replace your OEM speaker with new speakers. Buy a 4-channel amp that pumps out 50 watts to all four channels (50 x 4). "Bridge" the rear channel, which will be total 100 watts, and install the 50 watts x 2 to the rear door speakers. So, you will have 100 watts connected to one subwoofer and 50 watts to your rear door speakers, and all with just one amp! Just make sure that your 4-channel amp is can be"bridged". Response:
any decent stero shop should be able to make enclosure any size or shape you want them. Just depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. I have a 99 sonoma and left the stock head unit, have an alpine amp, kenwood eq (no built in amp), 6 inch tube sub woffer and the stock speaker. It is enough for me.
