new warantee?? Is it worth it?
Question:
I should preface my comments by saying that I’m a bit of a gambler in things like this. I’ve had relatively good luck with vehicles of much higher mileage and tend to have an optimistic outlook. Warrantees of this nature are big moneymakers for those companies and they frequently try to find a way to weasel out of paying. Anyone have any positive or negative experiences with aftermarket warrantees?

I have 127,000 miles on my 90 Z71 350 auto. I wish I would have had a warranty on the tranny, very expensive fix. Nothing else has gone wrong. I faithfully keep on top of all maintenance. I know with some after market warranties you have to read the fine print, they have a lot of ways to get out of paying. Good luck

Hi all, I have a 95 GMC Jimmy with 99,000 km (~62,000 miles) on it and my warantee is about to run out. The new warantee is ~$1600 cdn (1050 US) for two years (40,000 km) and covers everything except the power accessories (windows, locks etc…) with a $100 dedcutible each time. My questions is…am I now running into the life span of the truck when certain components are likely to start going i.e. alternator, a/c etc… Can any long term (or higher miles) owners comment on their repair issues in this mileage range? Cheers, Doug
