Of course it’s all up to you, but you have to realize that no matter what you choose there will always be people who disagree. I personally hate lowered trucks and cannot stand ricerockets, and nowadays I’m probably in the minority. To each his own.

How about a v6 in a 54 chevy pickup? Is this an insult to classic owners? My reason is to get better mileage so I can drive it every day.

The last ‘54 I had(I’ve had 2, the first one got left stock) got a Camaro front clip, a Mark V 454 and a turbo 400. Camaro rear end and steering colome(sp?) I think the conversion to the 4.3 v-6 would be just as much work, but not near as much fun.

Oh, I don’t know, maybe traction? Its nice to be able to drive in the nasty weather. I have an 1/8th of a mile driveway thats on an uphill angle and its almost impossible to get up when it snows… Its not a rough terran driveway its just slick.. www.dropem.net – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> If you like them low why did you buy a 4X4? > > whats the point of a 4×4 lowered when a front wheel drive will go > farther… > > (than a lowered 4×4) > > fine by me… > > your the type of people i point and laugh at… > > sorry. > You guys still don’t get it… Do what you like, enjoy it.. Oh yeah, a lowered front wheel drive is much more respectable. Yeah…

Absolutely correct. >I get so tired of people who are into 4×4s thinking the only way to have a >truck is with a 6" lift
Well six is a minimum. >33"+ tires with 15×10 or bigger rimms,
33"! Hah! Way to small to be a real man! >like nine shocks on each wheel,
I stop at 6 per wheel, let’s be reasonable here! > a gun rack in the back
Absolutely a necessity. >a John deer bumper sticker >on more than one fender as well as wearing some type of seed hat and >boots…..

I wanted to lower it because I like the way a lowered truck looks… Yea, I could have bought a car, so could anyone… I wanted a truck that was low, because I like them that way and I can … Its a toy… You know how they say the man with the most toys wins…. It doesn’t normally snow that much here in St. Louis. I am not really woried about it, for a few reasons. 1. We do have a service in our subdivision that plows our streets and the highways are usually clear. 2. If it does snows that bad where I do have to worry, I am not leaving anyway, because there will be so many other Moron drivers crashing into each other, I am not going to risk any vehicle of mine, no matter what the height.
