Jimmy Question
Question:
I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 2wd with the 4.3. Whenever I put on brakes the car pulls to the right. I had the wheels off the other day and I tried turning the hub and it seemed a little hard to turn. I don’t know anything about disc brakes so I was wondering how hard should it be to turn? Also where should I look at fpr it pulling to the right? It has a fairly strong pull on the steering wheel when applying brakes and even slight pull just driving down the road. A while back my mechanic fixed it and he said that the right front brake was basicly stuck on so I guess it has happened again. What should I look for and replace. Thanks, David Sanders * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!
Response:
I recently had similar problems. West Virginia winters call for salt on the roads. The small bracket that holds the rubber brake line from the frame to the brakes had rusted enough to make the brake get pinched in the bracket. I took a large screwdriver and carefully opened the bracket until the hose would slide in the bracket, but not fall out. No more dragging brakes. Hope that might help. RJ
