The Chevrolet is the S-10, and the GMC Jimmy is the S-15, although these – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> What is the 1988 Jimmy considered. You’re right on target… I’ve had 3 S10’s (aka S15?), 2 were 1/2 tons, and my present one is a 3/4 ton. Just depends on which box you ticked at the dealership. :)

Umm, I believe S-10’s only come in "half-ton" version. There are 2 GVWR’s available, 4400 (C3A) and 4600 (C5D), but not 3/4 ton. You have to get a full size truck to get 3/4 ton, the C/K2500 at about twice the price of an S-10. — Cheers, Steve 82 Z28 96 K1500 The opinions expressed here are mine alone and do not represent those of my employer or any one else. The S-10 is a Chevrolet, and the S-15 was a nearly identical GMC. Somewhere along the way, GMC dropped the S-15 designation on the SUV and just called it a Jimmy. Now Chevy has done the same, using just "Blazer" rather than "S-10 Blazer" (since the full-sized vehicle is now a Tahoe). I don’t believe that the "10" or "15" had anything to do with being a half or three-quarter ton vehicle on the compact pickups, although that’s what it meant on the full-sizers. It was just to differentiate between the Chevy and the GMC. (I could be wrong.) -Alan LaRue – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >What is the 1988 Jimmy considered.
