I have a 94 GMC Jimmy and the brake lights are staying on. What would be the cause of this and how would it be repaired?
Response:
Brake light switch might be thinking you always have the brake pedal pressed. It’s down by the pdeal, see if it may be mis-adjusted… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I have a 94 GMC Jimmy and the brake lights are staying on. > What would be the cause of this and how would it be repaired?
Response:
There is a recall notice on 94 chevy pickups (i received one in the mail). It was to repair or replace the brake light switch. The notice stated the polarity was reversed. Call a dealer about the recall, it should be a free repair. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >I have a 94 GMC Jimmy and the brake lights are staying on. >What would be the cause of this and how would it be repaired?
Response:
Was yoiurs a fullsize pickup? If it was, the system may have been different from the Jimmy he was speaking of, the S-style Jimmy. Though I think people really should make the distinction between the fullsize and S-style Jimmy/Blazer even though the fullzsize took the Tahoe/Yukon name in 1993… Even online parts places have a hard time making this distinction, like in the searches… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > There is a recall notice on 94 chevy pickups > (i received one in the mail). > It was to repair or replace the brake light switch. > The notice stated the polarity was reversed. > Call a dealer about the recall, it should be a free repair. >I have a 94 GMC Jimmy and the brake lights are staying on. >What would be the cause of this and how would it be repaired?

I got to the switches and they seem to stick. Are they easy to replace or is it better to have this done professionally? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->I have a 94 GMC Jimmy and the brake lights are staying on. >What would be the cause of this and how would it be repaired?
