Question:
Well, when I hit reply and see an address like ‘hahah.org’, I don’t even waste my time. So take your ‘dismissive and uninformed’ and stuff it. And good luck with your 75 dollar case of parts.

Happy New Year, Gary!

Well, since you use a fake e-mail address, I’ll have to answer you here. A ‘fair’ price for one, with a new set of synchros and bearings? 4-500 bucks. A ‘fair’ price for a NP203, with new chain? 250-300. Of course, what you’ve been offered and what I offer with a warranty are entirely different animals, aren’t they?

My e-mail address is for real, dude. I own the hahaha.org domain. Since your reply is dismissive and uninformed I’ll reply here as well. :) > A ‘fair’ price for one, with a new set of synchros and bearings? 4-500 > bucks.
We’re talking different animals. I’m looking for a used unit from some guy. I’ve been offered one for $75 since I posted the request, but it’s too far away. If I wanted a rebuilt unit I’d probably get it from Drivetrain Specialists in Las Vegas, as they’re nearby, I like their work, their prices are fair and I wouldn’t have to pay CA sales tax. I’m on a tight budget tho, so I’m hoping to find a used one that hasn’t been beat to ____. > Of course, what you’ve been offered and what I offer with a warranty are > entirely different animals, aren’t they?
Yep. I’m not looking for a rebuilt just yet. morgan

I’m looking for an SM465 transmission, found 4×4 Chevy and GMC full-size trucks manufactured between ‘69 and ‘92. The output shaft that enters the transfer case needs to have 10 splines. I’d pay $100 for one, maybe $200 with an NP203 transfer case and both in good shape. Got one sitting around? I’m in Northern CA. I’d prefer to come pick it up, but shipping might work. morgan

Can you spell ‘tightwad’? Shucks, I knew you could! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I’m in Northern CA. I’d prefer to come pick it up, but shipping might > work. > morgan

Heh, I guess so. I’ve been offered a 2WD SM465 locally for $150. I know there are thousands of idle chevy trucks out there, and I’m hoping someone will have a 4×4 version I could afford. What do you think is a fair price for a used SM465? On a tight budget, morgan
