starting problems
Question:
I have a recently purchased ‘98 S-10. I am having starting problems on occasion that act much like a vapor lock or something similar. Anyone with info please post. Thanks Ernie

does s-10 have vortec v-6?? is problem when engine is at normal temp? after sitting aprox.30min. or more? have you tried port fuel injection cleaner in tank? if yes to all ??’s then you’ll need to replaced fuel injector/ pop-it assy. inside plenum. or do an injector balance test,through pcm john—> ASE master auto tech. gm line tech….

Check that the fuel pump is working to spec. See my posting for 7/9/00 under "96 Z71 Fuel Pump Wiring…" I had problems getting the truck to start a couple times before it stayed broken long enough to find the problem. This problem may apply to anyone with a fuel pump in the tank.
