Service 4wd light

Has anyone else had a problem with the service 4wd light coming on in their 99+ silverado?

Yeh, I had the problem when my truck was new in 99. I would get the light and the code reader would tell the tech that the light came on, but it never showed a trouble code. It went in 5 times over the first 6 months for this problem. Had to get tech support from GMC to help troubleshoot it. They found a bad ground wire at first, and had to rip apart the entire dash to get it tightened. Had the truck for 3 days. Got it back, 2 days later had the Svc. 4WD light. They replaced the computer that controls the xfer case which is located behind the auto 4WD switch bank on the LH part of the dash. Have not had the problem since. Will never buy a 1st year of a new model again either. I hate beta testing trucks. Not fun.
