Parting out 1984 GMC Suburban 1/2 ton 4×4
Question:
I think that the tranny is built special for the diesel and 4×4 layout. Lower shift points and the output shaft is probably the shortest one available. — Bob May Access1 has gone Chapter 7 so I don’t know how long my website is going to last. Bob May
Response:
1984 GMC Suburban 1/2 ton, 4×4 w/ 6.2L diesel 200,000 miles and still runs strong. I am taking the 700R4 for another truck and have many good mechanical parts left over. I have owned this truck for 3 years now but the body has almost fallen off completely in the back. not to mention exhaust leaks! Everything is currently together and can be driven but I plan to pull the tranny in early to mid Sept. Truck is located in Prineville, Oregon and I can deliver for anyone that will pay the gas and anwhere I can reach on a weekend. So… 6.2L good runner but some oil leaks at rear main seal. Rebuilt injector pump, new glow plugs. $150 NP208 part-time Transfer case good working condition. $100 Axles – Front and Rear corporate 10 bolts: Front – new calipers, brake pads, lock out hubs, bearings. $75 hub to hub Rear – new brake shoes. $75 Power windows – good glass and motors/ hardware. $ offer Interior – Dash in good shape, gauges look good but light bulb sockets are a little loose and need replaced. $25 complete. Tilt steering column w/ cruise switch on turn signal switch and shift lever. good working condition. $15 inquire about other parts not listed. also, 1976 Blazer corporate 10 bolt axles Full time front axle $50 Rear axle w/ bad axle bearing $10 (axle bearing completly gone and I expect the housing and axle shaft are damaged drivers side axle shaft in good condition)
