I bought my truck "off the lot" the end of October. It is an extended cab with the LONG box. With the possible exception of the "tiara" (auxillary/clearance lights along and above the windshield) and perhaps the rear window defroster wires (requires heated OSRV mirrors?), there’s NOTHING I would change. They ordered the snow plow prep option that provides an auxillary transmission cooler and gauge and a 130-amp alternator. For towing my camping trailer AND recharging its battery, that works out GREAT for me. Good luck!

On Thursday, I plan on ordering a 02 GMC 2500 4×4 – 8.1L – Allison Tranny. Does anybody have any advice on specific items to stay away from or make sure I order with my truck. I have owned GM products all my life, but the truck I have now is a 96, and I know they have changed considerably. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
