Last Post……Rancho Lift 2000 z71
Question:
I picked up the truck this morning and went straight to the alignment shop. The alignment took about 30 minutes and I was off. Here is my inital observations: 1. Truck sits really high, more than I had expected. From tire lug to fender lip is just over 10.5 inches. Left side was a little lower but I have a full tank of fuel so that accounts for the slight lean(.5 inch or less). 2. The truck rides almost as smooth as before the lift. The suspension does transmit more to the cab but nothing like some of the other trucks I have been in. There is no drive line vibration whatsoever, even through 80 mph. 3. Turning radius is quite diminished, probably due to the tires. I installed Swamper SSR’s 33×12.50 on 16 inch rims. 4. The new tires give quite the howl on the road! My wife thought that a fire engine was coming up behaind us…..heeheehee! 5. The kit itself looks great. I got underneath the truck while it was still on the lift and cleaned all of the fingerprints off of the parts. This kit is of very high quality and I am thoroughly impressed, not just because I spent the money. I could afford any kit out there and had given serious consideration to California Super Trucks, Superlift, and Trailmaster but went with Rancho due to the good reports from installers and enthusiasts. 6. When I got home and stepped out of the truck I almost busted ass!!! I forgot that the truck was lifted and just flung the door open and bailed, almost on my face. 7. I cant stop looking out the window because the damn thing looks soo much better. 8. I would highly reccomend lifting a new body style chevy, they look great up in the air. If anyone is considering doing the same just drop me a note. I learned alot during the last week.
Response:
Rancho is a good kit. I lifted my ‘91 GMC ext. cab, long box, 4×4 when it was a couple of years old. The only maintainance was having to replace the urethane bushings last year, no big deal. Since the lift it has 33" BFG’s, nice Weld wheels, 4.56 gears instead of the 3.73’s. Also extensive engine mod’s.,including h.p. heads, camshaft,MSD dist, MSD wires, Splitfire platinum plugs,MSD box, K&N filter, relocated and larger oil filter,multi-point EFI system, Doug Thorley tri-y stainless steel headers with full Gibson stainless steel exhaust, and the list keeps going and growing. The point to all this is it’s hard to stop at just a liftkit. Have fun. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I picked up the truck this morning and went straight to the alignment > shop.
