Is this bad fuel mileage? Sonoma High Rider
Question:
I have a 95 GMC Sonoma High Rider and have had to use it to do a lot of long distance trips….I noticed that I couldn’t get very far on a tank of gas and decided to break out the calculator and start tracking my fuel mileage. My latest calculations were 15.1 MPG on all interstate driving..the speeds were around 75 MPH average. The truck has 47k miles and this was in cool weather without kicking in the air conditioner. Is this poor mileage?…I think it might be. The truck just seems to be a gas hog. It seems to have good power and acceleration. I have been eyeballing some of the new full size Chevys and GMCs…I think they are doing just as good or better fuel wise..and thats the reason I bought the mid size….to save fuel. thanks, Mike

Oops, forgot to ask this: Where can I find out if there are any dealer incentive kickbacks to dealers for the the new 2000 Silverados and how much if any?

If you are thinking of a 2000 get the GMC. (5.3L) 5300 Vortec. I only have 800 miles on mime so far and I get 19 to 20 MPG. Hi-way. And that’s a V-8. Not really broke in yet. GKShadow.
