GMC/Silverado Pickup Camper Mirrors
Question:
A new option on the 2000 model is telescoping camper mirrors. According to the GMC & Chevy brochures, these extend to give you a better view when towing a trailer. Have any of you bought these with your truck? If so, do they extend far enough to make them a worthwhile replacement for the after-market trailer mirrors that clip on to the front fenders? I believe I read somewhere that if you buy these you lose the electric remote mirrors. Comments on this would be appreciated. TIA Clark
Response:
Do they work? Absolutely. You do lose Power Mirrors and the ability to order the defrosting mirrors as well. If you plan on using the truck for alot of towing, get them. The clip on mirrors have more vibration. However, the factory towing mirrors do stick out farther than the standard mirrors, and if you are apt to get into tight spaces or doors, the mirror package through parts costs about $ 270 Can.
