gas mileage with 6L V8
Question:
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of how thirsty this engine is? I would like to know gas mileage on the 3/4 ton Suburban and 3/4 ton Silverado’s with that engine. Thanks in advance, Chris

I have 6l In my 99 gmc 3/4 ton, and am unimpressed with gas mileage, its only good if I drive around 80k, but in town I get around 13mpg and not much better on the highway unless i drive slow, but its got balls! — Darren 97 RMK 700 http://members.xoom.com/RMK700/

If my 78 GMC got 10 miles to the gallon I’d be happy. I have a 2000 3/4 ton LS with every heavy duty option available on order, when I researched this truck, it is supposed to get 15 mpg city, 19 hw not bad for a 300 hp engine I think.
