xxxxx I just had a Goodwrench 4.3 put in my Astro Van. Runs good and the price was right. He may be able to pick one up at his friendly Chevrolet dealer as well as Pace. My old 4.3 had 223,000 when it started leaking at the head gasket and blowing heater cores. 29

Mike: Look into a Target Master motor from a local G.M. dealer.  Everything is new and the warranty is 3 years / 50,000 miles.  If you want to have the longest warranty, purchase it over the parts counter.  Mileage isn’t documented.  That way, you get a 3 year warranty regardless of mileage.  Then, have a local garage install it.  You’ll have one receipt for the engine and another one for labor only. You beat the garage out of a markup on the engine too! Take care, Steve Spence — G.M. Partsman since 1973 Chevy Olds Pont Buick Cad & Lt. Tj,  I recommend an AC-Delco or Goodwrench engine.  I have not had any good luck with jasper engines, and you should be able to get a new good wrench engine for about $3000 to $3500.  You got 235,000 miles out of the original GM engine why not put another one back in.  Just my thoughts.        Ed – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > My faithful 88 GMC truck gave up a cylinder gasket at 235K rather than do a > top overhaul I want to swing a long block  into my old friend that will > drive me that distance again.
