ABS and 4×4

Question:

I have a ‘93 that definetly uses the ABS in the front in 4-wheel drive. Used it many times like this on icy roads in our local mountains during winter time.  I am sure yours is no different, considering yours is a ‘94.

Response:

I know some people who have Chev and GMC 4×4 trucks with ABS and on their vehicles ABS is disabled on the front wheels when 4×4 is engaged.  Anyone know if my 94 XLT 4×4 ABS auto does anything similar? I’ll look at the manual when I get home, but I suspect that this is probably too technical for Ford to include in the owner’s manual. thanks, gord

The ABS is still functional in both 4×4 High and Low.  Starting in 1995,         the transfercase is disabled when the ABS system is cycling (except 5.0L).
