94 S-10 /GM JUNK

Question:

I bought my first new truck in 1994, a Chevy S-10 LS and I have been paying for it ever sense. I can’t believe GM is letting  this junk get out of their factory, is there no quality control at General Motors? Whatever the problem is it still doesn’t excuse the fact that I spent too much for a crap truck that will probably fall apart before it is paid for. I’m not telling people not to buy a Chevy although in my opinion they may want to look at another product first. After all the problems I’ve been through neither the dealer or GM has offered to make things right, in fact I feel that Morgan McClure would prefer me not to come back and that’s OK with me but they need to remember that I come from a big family with lots of friends who live in the same small town and they can bet their asses everyone knows how I have been treated and the junk that is passed off Morgan McClure’s lot. (many local folks refer to the place as "Morgan Manure") Matthew Sutherland http://www.mounet.com/~matts25/crap.htm

Paint the thing up like a lemon, put his name all over it and drive up and down the street in front of the lot until you get some satisfaction.  Most people I know with these trucks, myself included, find them to be of good quality. —

I agree with Chris. I love my ‘92 Jimmy and I know others who love their GM Trucks. I never had any serious problems with mine(75K), and I plan to get either a Yukon or Tahoe next year. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >I bought my first new truck in 1994, a Chevy S-10 LS and I have been paying >for it ever sense.         I would tend to disagree with you because I have a 94 s-10 and have never had a problem with it. Maybe you just happened to get a lemon . I know my sister had the same problem with a new fiero she bought once.                     Thanks Todd – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->I agree with Chris. Matt I understand your situation because I have a piece of crap 97 S-10 that I do not think I could sell to anyone because it makes so many noises.  GM is a bullshit company that does NOT care that builds SHIT.  The piece of crap I have was made in Lousiana those fucking idiots need to learn how to build something that lasts more than a month. My air conditioner compressor could not even last a year before it got louder than hell and quit working.  While at the dealership to pick it up I talked with another customer and asked why their car was in the shop.  Thay had a 97 yukon and they were picking up their yukon for the 6th time related to the same problem,,,,,,,,, Airconditioner compressor failure…  Imagine that. There were 6 or 7 other customers loudly complaining to the service manager about the hell they have had with their GM SHIT.  One service clerk admitted that they have had a huge number of problems with these cars lately. Sad Sad Sad.  "GM has lost my Business" read it on this news group

And it will only get worse. Now that the plants are starting back up I’ll bet they care more about the numbers of vehicles coming out of the plants instead of quality. GM will need to play catch up to replentish the supply. I was thinking of buying the new 99 Chev PU. But I refused to pay for the GM strike also knowing that the quality will suffer. Sure am glad I bought the Toyota 4×4.   GM stands for Gigantic Mistake  Bob – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Matt I understand your situation because I have a piece of crap 97 S-10 that > I do not think I could sell to anyone because it makes so many noises.  GM > is a bullshit company that does NOT care that builds SHIT.  The piece of > crap I have was made in Lousiana those fucking idiots need to learn how to > build something that lasts more than a month. > My air conditioner compressor could not even last a year before it got > louder than hell and quit working.  While at the dealership to pick it up I > talked with another customer and asked why their car was in the shop.  Thay > had a 97 yukon and they were picking up their yukon for the 6th time related > to the same problem,,,,,,,,, Airconditioner compressor failure…  Imagine > that. > There were 6 or 7 other customers loudly complaining to the service manager > about the hell they have had with their GM SHIT.  One service clerk admitted > that they have had a huge number of problems with these cars lately. They were supposed to actually call it a "Shit-10", but the censors would not let them. Stop play with those Chevy toys and get something like a Ford with a PowerStroke.

Response:

I bought new a 96 GMC 1500 SLE, it went in the shop 15 times.  Biggest piece I’ve ever spent $20,000 on.  I sold it right before the warrenty was up.  No more GMC’s for me.   The design was good – it was the build by the workers that was bad.   Shame on management for allowing this. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >:>I bought my first new truck in 1994, a Chevy S-10 LS and I have been paying >:>for it ever sense.
