2001 Crew Cabs

Has anyone tested the new 2001 3/4 ton crew cabs? I was thinking of trading my 99 z71 in and wanted some opinions.

Tested how? I’ve driven the 2500HD crew cab with both the 8.1 liter gas and the 6.6 liter diesel, both with the Allison transmission. I am looking at the ride quality of the 3/4 ton, as well as the overall reliability of the vehicle. i have a 99 Z71 and I am tjinking of trading it in for the new body style crew cabs. The only thing that i have experinced with my current truck is the cold start knock. Other than that I am pretty happy with it. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Tested how? Some vehicles get produced, in limited numbers as right-drives. I’m betting that the writer needs to do his home work. It does say 1500 and 1/2 ton. Now take a look at the picture. The 8 lug wheels are 3/4 ton items. 8600 lb GVWR fits a 3/4 ton, check out the GMC and Chevy Websites. 1500 trucks are in the 6100 to 6400 lb. range. The Vortec 6000 V8 is currently only offered in a 3/4 ton truck

Pickuptruck.com had a story on them a few weeks ago. The 1/2 crew cab is suppossed to be released first part of 2001, around the same time as the Avalanche. Unlike the Avalanche, it is based on the true pickup platform (meaning the box is not connected to the cab. I’m looking for a 2001 3/4 ton. My dealer is telling me around Christmas. I’m hearing "NO" on the 1/2 tons. This may change with the popularity of the new 1/2 SuperCrew Fords. I have also seen some nice Chevy Crew Cab conversions in the C-K body Style trucks. The name of the convesion company excapes me right now. I’m guessing they might fill the void if GM does not.

The S-10 crew cabs should be out soon.
